Listen Carefully… and Keep Talking is a 30-hour English course for adult post-intermediate learners who wish to improve their listening and speaking skills in a relaxed, communicative environment.
The course focuses on real-life communication, with particular emphasis on listening. Students will work with authentic and semi-authentic materials from online sources, news reports, interviews and current-interest topics. Exposure to different accents and speaking styles will help develop comprehension in realistic contexts.
Listening activities will provide the basis for vocabulary expansion, including useful expressions and collocations, which students will practise through discussions, debates, presentations, role plays and exchanges of opinion to improve fluency and accuracy.
Grammar revision will be integrated naturally whenever needed, with the focus on effective communication. The course will also include songs, video-based lessons and a “film of the year”, followed by vocabulary and speaking activities.
No fixed textbook will be used; materials will be selected and provided by the teacher according to learners’ needs and interests, encouraging active participation and personal involvement.
