This 30-hour course is designed for adult elementary-level learners who wish to improve their ability to communicate in travel and everyday situations. The focus is on practical English for real-life contexts.
Particular emphasis will be placed on speaking through dialogues, role plays, simulations and picture descriptions. Learners will practise language for travelling, asking for and giving directions, checking into hotels, ordering food, shopping, asking for information and interacting politely in social situations.
The course will provide practice in key language structures, including present, past and future forms, as well as common modal verbs such as can, could, may, might, should and must. Particular attention will be given to vocabulary development, with useful expressions and collocations related to travel and daily life, regularly revised and recycled.
Listening skills will be developed through songs, podcasts, short videos and online resources. Learners will also watch a film of the year, followed by summary, discussion and opinion-sharing activities.
No textbook will be used; instead, the teacher will provide and adapt materials according to learners’ needs and interests. Participants will also have access to a Classroom Library with graded readers to encourage pleasure reading and independent language development outside the classroom.
