I have always been fascinated by foreign languages in their philological, social and professional aspects, and by the worlds and cultures they connect us with. These interests have consistently shaped my career through a wide range of experiences across the language sector, from corporate work to translation and interpreting, education and international study programmes.
After graduating with honours in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Bologna, I obtained the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE) from the Michigan Language Assessment-University of Michigan, USA, the TQUK Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Training Qualifications UK, as well as the ECDL IT Specialised from AICA.
I began my career with Italian and international companies, including the ENI Group and Alpi S.p.A. I initially held operational roles and later became head of the Export Department, working daily with international customers and distributors, mainly British, French and American. I then moved into freelance translation and interpreting in corporate and conference settings, covering the medical, legal, technical, scientific, financial and advertising sectors. I have also undertaken a number of editorial translation projects between English, French and Italian, with works published in collections of literary texts, art criticism and essays. These publications include Le Livre des Masques by Remy de Gourmont, Giuseppe Ugonia – il Litografo del ’900 italiano - Rassegna d’Opera, and The life discovered, poems by Davide Rondoni.
Since the early 2000s, teaching has become a central part of my career. I began with Business English courses in corporate and vocational training settings, while also establishing a long-standing collaboration with the Libera Università Adulti. Soon afterwards, I joined the state school system as a teacher of English and French. Over the years, my work has increasingly incorporated new language-teaching methodologies, educational technologies and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Above all, what I enjoy most is organising study trips and taking groups of lower- and upper-secondary students, and adults, to English-speaking destinations across Europe and North America
Travelling and spending time abroad remain my greatest passions.
